Multiple unlocking methods are available for you to manage your home access, making it easy for the whole family to get into the house quickly, securely and with their favoured method of entry. The older kids’ favourite was established pretty quickly, that being the EZVIZ app which functions as additional access keys (anything compatible with their smartphones was always going to win over the more traditional methods!) This freed up the included RFID Fobs for us older family members who are usually carrying several bags, work equipment and shopping when coming home from a long day. No more fumbling around for your keys, just one quick tap and you’re in! The individual PIN codes for the outdoor keypad can be issued to each family member, a fantastic back up for those inevitable days you might forget your keys or phone – and meaning you can say goodbye to rushing back when someone else forgets theirs! And whilst the PIN codes are a clear winner with the younger kids who love pushing buttons, our favourite feature for the keypad comes in the form of Temporary Visitor Codes. Issue these codes out to those you want to have limited access to your home, such as deliveries, babysitters and tradespeople.
The glossy 7” touchscreen functions as your main control panel and is both modern in design and intuitive in response – perfect for those who don’t have experience using Smart Home devices. When the doorbell is pressed, the screen will simultaneously light up and let you know who’s at your front door. Utilise the Two-Way Talk feature to speak to your visitors, store your video and snapshot history and customise your set up with various ringtones and even a voice changing feature for those occasions when you require additional privacy.
The EZVIZ app (iOS / Android) is also useful for more than just a favoured method of entry. You can utilise the app when you are away from home as an additional screen for Two-Way talk with visitors, as well as accessing your stored images, live feed and settings. The biggest benefit with the app has to be never missing a delivery or visitor again.
Finally, let’s take a look at the physical attributes. The camera is incredible, a high-quality 2K lens with 162° viewing angle captures every image in crisp, ultra-wide detail and even works in low light by providing infrared vision for up to 5 meters. The outdoor elements, the keypad intercom and solar panel, are weather rated as IP65. Made for the outdoors, they can withstand the UKs harshest winds and rain, all whilst harnessing the power of nature with the included solar panel.
The EP7 requires absolutely no wiring between the indoor and outdoor elements, and no wires means no messy installations! The doorphone has a large removable battery, just charge it throughout the day with the solar panel or detach completely for easy indoor charging.
